Please also tell me why, I'm planning on building one soon, as a first project (I've been putting stuff like this off way too long, and I know a hell of a lot of electronics "theory" now). But wondering: which ones do you like the sound of most? Please also explain why?

A: Transistor Pair, The Fuzz Face PNP, SINO
Two matched, old-stock 3AX31C, tested in the Fuzz Face circuit. Supplied with list of resistor values used. Will also work in Bear Face, "Two-knob" Tone Benders, "69", Fuller Mods, etc.

B: Transistor Pair - The Fuzz Face PNP, U.S.
Two matched PNP devices, U.S.-made, unbranded old-stock, tested in the Fuzz Face circuit. Supplied with list of resistor values used. Will also work in Bear Face, "Two-knob" Tone Benders, "69", Fuller Mods, etc.

C: Transistor Pair, The Fuzz Face PNP, SINO-U.S.
A 3AX31C and a U.S.-made device, tested in the Fuzz Face circuit. Supplied with list of resistor values used. Will also work in Bear Face, "Two-knob" Tone Benders, "69", Fuller Mods, etc.

D:      Transistor Pair - The Fuzz Face PNP, "All-American"
Two matched PNP devices, U.S.-made, branded and JEDEC-numbered (2Nxxx) old-stock, tested in the Fuzz Face circuit. Supplied with list of resistor values used. Will also work in Bear Face, "Two-knob" Tone Benders, "69", Fuller Mods, etc.

Price is not an issue (they're in order of price, least to most expensive, by the way), since there's only a four dollar difference between the least and most expensive set.

best "all around", imo ...not too "hot", just a great fuzz sound that cleans up great with your guitars volume knob. I like the 2Nxxxx series so much that I recently bought 500 of them ! (I sold 250 of those, kept 250 for personal use)

any

I got a hold of some real nice ones a while ago, which I'm currently still selling to forumites.
So far, everybody that tried them loved the way they sounded...

Don't know about Smallbear's selection, but they probably won't disappoint either.

It's supposed to sound that way.
