Hi,I have just built the Fuzzcentral Arbiter fuzz Face clone and got it working right away but only thing that i can't acheive is the correct voltage of Q2's collector using the trim pot, i can only get it down to approx -6.5volts,is this an issue for optimum sound? I've only tried it though and tiny practice amp and it sounds ok but i was wondering why i can't get proper bias from the trimpot.I've done the usual checks for component values etc and all seems ok,anybody else experienced this, thanks Crawf.(PS i can post other voltages if required but didn't do it as it's actually working)

I haven't looked at the schematic lately, and don't know the value pot used for Q2 collector.
I like the collector to be about 1/2 v. A little more than that sounds good too.
I don't have enough information, AFAICT, maybe it's working.
Generally nice to be able to try your FF bias at ~1/2v.

Try a bigger trim pot.
Q1's collector should measure 0,5V. Q2's between -4,5V and -5V. Use your ears to find out what works best for you.

Hi, Thanks and thats what have just done today prior reading your post, albeit it's a 100k trimmer but thats all i had that would fit the board but i'm half way there with gettting the voltage nearly right, thanks again.

Try using a fixed resistor in front of your trimpot. :icon_wink:

Hi,not quite sure how this is done but i've got the voltage to around -5 volts with the trimmer so i boxed it up and its sounding good so thanks again for the help, cheers Crawf.
