I'm not able to find anyone that stocks the 2N4248 PNP transistor (used in an Acoustic 370 bass amp)
and was wondering if there's a modern replacement widely available (i.e. from Mouser).

Thanks!!

It's not that fancy. Datasheets are your friend. It's PNP, 40V Bvceo, hfe of 50 minimum. 2N3906 should work unless it's a weird application.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Thats a universal 40V, 100mA, .2W transistor with a DC forward current gain of 50 whereas a 2N5089 has a forward current gain of 400, and hfe measuring about 550 0r so, so any low gain pnp should do. Looks to be really low gain, just over a 100 hfe. Quick check though and we use BC types over here and the BC560 is indicated as an equivalent  but they aren't at the local so I'd grab a bunch and use the one with the lowest hfe and work up.
2SA970 and 2SA1137 are also listed. Any low gain pnp I guess.
Monkey see, monkey do.

Thanks ... Talonix has most of the parts on my list!
