BSIAB II buzzing a little: footswitch for the gain is the culprit?

My BSIAB II has been buzzing and I'm wondering if it's the footswitch that I have set up for the 'Gain2' pot, so I can toggle between two gain pots/settings.

Please have a look at the pic below:

Is there something that's not being grounded correctly when using this setup? i.e. the 'loose wires' from either pot when the OTHER is selected? I can go back to the stock three-knob config, but I liked the idea of having a gain option to switch to since there are so many sounds in this box.

Thanks,
- Buck

The only thing I can think of, is that having the switch is perhaps causing the leads to your gain pot to be longer than usual (ie, more that an inch or so).  If you have a long lead running from the board, down to a switch, and then back up to a pot, it can pick up quite a bit of noise.  You could try using shielded cable instead.

Thanks, Mike.
I had thought of that, but I notice the buzzing more with the gain up all the way and can tell that when I touch one of the pot posts with my finger or touch one of the footswitches and the hum/buzzing goes away.
Apparently, something isn't grounded correctly and I was starting with the footswitch. I'll try some shielded wire and see if that does it.
