Higher threshold and input voltage to diodes..thoughts ?

  Start with TS for topic.
  Then, double the diode threshold and DC input voltage, boost the input?, attenuate the output.
  Output attenuation could be a tone control or other.
  The idea being that the clipping voltage threshold would be approached and met in a different manner by the AC signal voltage swings when the voltage of ...all three... the input, and supply, and the threshold voltage are increased.

  Anyway...thought that went with...
  Raising headroom, clipping threshold voltage, and input signal strength all move the point at which distortion from clipping is onset.
  It's been explained to me many times.
  I still get the idea raising threshold, AC and DC input voltages might give a bit more 'fine tuning' and possibly change the operating parameters of the opamp to some advantage.
