Reticon SAD1024 group buy

The SAD1024, used in effects like the Electric Mistress and others, is hard to get. Smallbear does not stock them anymore.

While searching for the out of production Reticion SAD1024 I got this quote:

The best I can do for all my stock (227 pieces), is $27.36ea.

Is this a good price? I can get the same IC for about $26 USD in the Netherlands, but that is limited to just one IC per customer. Since this IC is OOP, I expect prices (on ebay etc) only to get higher...

Are people interested in buying the lot so we can split costs?

This is just an initial post to see if we could/should carry this any further. If it is too much trouble, to pricey, etc, speak out! Just checking for interested people. Advice welcome. Thanks.

I was waiting to see how many people would jump in.  I'd be interested in purchasing a few and if I had the cash I'd buy a lot.

The price seems high for a "lot" of them. If they were half that I would buy a bunch. They are still out there if you look around.

Small Bear's were roughtly half of that price. $6000 for 227 of them is just too much cash for even a big group buy I would imagine.

I'd be interested if the price was a bit lower.... doesn't sound like a fair price for such a bulk purchase. Thanks for sharing your findings anyway.
