I need some tube related closure re: Tubes as Diodes.

What about running it at 12v? im guessing youd need to do an 18v mod somewhere? (forgive my newbness)

well, ive been thinking about this...
now, we all know about certain tube circuits have been adapted into stomp box use using FETs, and we all know that FETs can be used as clipping diodes by connecting the gate the the drain (which makes the anode) and the source is left alone (making the cathode, and sometimes a germ diode is placed in series with the diode FET

well, wouldn't we do the same with tube??? tie the grid to the plate (anode) and the leave the cathode alone (cathode.....)
