BAJA JFET Buffer questions

The BAJA JFET Buffer project found here:

is perfect for someone like me trying to learn the basics of veroboard and electronics...but as a beginner I have some n00b questions:

1: How do I connect the input/output wires to the jacks?

2: I'd like to use a 9V input, not a battery...would the layout change?

3: I'd like to eliminate a switch altogether and just have an "always on" type pedal, what do I change to make this possible?

4: I'm following the veroboard layout posted by goaltoday in the above link, but I want to use the 2SK117 transistor instead of the J201. Would I place a 2SK117 differently?

5: Could I use Mallory 150 capacitors (630v) as capacitors? What would this do to the sound?

I'm just looking to build a really transparent high quality buffer to try and understand stompbox building. I need it for my all bypass pedal board with long cable runs.

Wire the input and output from the circuit directly to the input and output jacks.

1: How do I connect the input/output wires to the jacks?

The input and output wires go to the tips of the jacks and then you wire the sleeves of both jacks to ground. Check out the DIY FAQ if you're not sure which jack connections are which.

2: I'd like to use a 9V input, not a battery...would the layout change?

No, just connect your supply to the 9volt and ground wires, making sure the polarity is correct.

3: I'd like to eliminate a switch altogether and just have an "always on" type pedal, what do I change to make this possible?

Just use the input and the "To switch" wire as the output.

Check the datasheets for the 2 parts and see if the pins are the same. http://www.alldatasheet.com/

If they'll fit you can use them, they won't add any magic to the sound though. Just use ordinary film caps, they'll be fine.
