User control JFet bias?

Hi all,

I'm building a little ciruit where I'm using a couple JFets. Each has trimmers in the source. Currently it's on the bread board. I was gonna find a pleasing setting then set and forget but as I go on, I think I like having access as it has profound impact on the sound.

Any concerns with this? Is there a possiblity of smoking the transistor(s) if turned up and left that way? I was wondering if maybe I should put a small/minimum value resistor in series with the control to keep things from getting driven to absolute max.

By the way, I'm using the simple J201 booster ciruits on GEO's site.

It shouldn't fry as long as you are keeping under about 75% of the JFET's maximum Idss with the bias turned all the way out.

That would work.
