Hi There I'm new here,

I joined because I'm working on a distrortion made from an old Walkman. I got the idea here:
http://brokenpants.com/?page_id=211

This is one of my first projects apart from soldering some cables etc...

Now what are my plans:
I'm trying to make a distrotion with a Bypass Button, a Boost Button, a Level Knob , a Distortion Knob and a Feedback Knob.
As I'm trying to learn more from the internet I find it very hard to learn a lot of what I find are to advanced or show schematics I don't (hardly understand)

Ok  for now I'm pretty much there where the link above left off...
My walkman is a lot different in lay-out  (way smaller soldering) and amongst others it hase reverse play so there not 2 but 4 input lines (2 left and 2 right)
But I think I won't be using the extra 2.

Ok now for my first question:
I'm trying to get the boost button working as I'm thinking this would be the right place to start.
So I want to switch between these two signal-chains:

Li----Lo----Out

Li----Lo----Ri----Ro----Out

I want to us a led so I bought an DPDT switch. I hooked up the Left Output (Lo) to the middle pole, the Output (Out) to the top and the Right Input (Ri) To the bottom pole....Is this the right way to do it? Or is there another simpeler/better way to do it?

The LED I connected to the bottom and centre pole (and to the + and - from the battery) as I want the LED to burn when the second circuit is active..
Should I connect the LED straight to the battery or should that be done differently?

EDIT: OOOPS That wasn't such a bright idea!

So the switch looks like this:

1-Out  *-4

2-Lo   Pos-5  L
                    E
3-Ri   Neg-6 D

Thanx.

The link above goes to a forum and the board specifically about circuit bending. I think you'll have some luck there because it revolves around projects like your own.
Monkey see, monkey do.

hi there...
well, if you´re wiring the swithc the way you discribed it will not really work... according to your pin order you need to bridge pin 1 and pin 4,  pin 2 is LO and pin 5 OUT, and pin 3 is RI and pin 6 is RO... ok in this case you wouldn´t have a led but you´ll gonna hear the difference^^... if you´ve got more questions post it or send me a pm i gonna try to answer^^...

Good Luck

Best Regards
