Hey All,

I'm thinking about building one of these babies, but I'd like to fit it into a relatively small box.  I know this thing has got six pots, and I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck fitting it into something like a 125B?

Thanks!
Andy

You don't really need ALL six controls.  If you install the Drive control as a trimpot, you can simply use the Saturation pot as your "push" control.  Set the saturation pot to max and adjust the Drive trimpot for the maximum amount of push you want, then use the Saturation pot to trim back from that to achieve your desired tone.

Can  five 16mm pots fit in a 125B?  Sure.

I built this and agree with Mark that having both the drive and sat controls is unnecessary. I'd even use a resistor for one.
I remember I liked one control better than the other for the sound of the distortion.
Can't remember which but you can decide that for yourself once the PCB is functionable.

Can't say about the enclosure size though.
I recycled an pre-used and large 1790N enclosure and put five out of six pots in it.

By itself the OD Pro's distortion didn't thrill me, but with the Ross comp in front the thing screams.
I put both circuits in the 1790 box and never use just the OD Pro alone. Always driven by the Ross.

PS: my Ross is very dirty, like an tight compressed overdrive. It does a great job of driving other pedals and my amp into OD.
The mini booster drives the OD Pro nicely too with a less compressed sound.

Don't want to put you off but IMHO the TS808 and Blue Magic overdrives sound much better.
But in light of the JFET thread, it could have been my fets.

Good luck

It's time to buy a gun. That's what I've been thinking.
Maybe I can afford one, if I do a little less drinking. - Fred Eaglesmith

Check out JD's kits over at Generalguitargadgets.  He fits lots of knobs in a 125B.

Thanks for all the replies guys!  That's a good point about losing a knob, except that I was actually going to move the "saturation" knob to between the diodes and ground.  Kinda like in the er, distortion pro.  I'm not sure if this would mean that I might want to twiddle both knobs more...

Pushtone, I hear you.  I know from searching on it that no one has Overdrive Pro tattoed on their arms, but I thought I would give it a shot.  You can tell from my post count that I'm still a noob, but I've already built an 808 and some fuzzes.  I think I'm gonna dig it.  I feel like the Rat clipping doesn't get enough love.
