An hour ago I toughed I had a finished stompbox.  But I decided to try to lift the polyurethane clear with duct tape...
Well I am getting really sick of Krylon and other acrylics paints. If any have a good suggestion ?  ...

Before the duct tape test:

After the test:

I feel suddenly tired.

How long did you let it dry for? Drys in 10 minutes does not mean it is ready in 10 mins. It needs to set for a few days I think. Atleast I always let it sit for 3 days undisturbed and haven't had problems.

One day between each coats except for the polyurethane, then at least two days between clear coats. Cleaned with alcohol between coats...
I don't understand how some guys do Krylon jobs done, is it really holding ?  Is it really the time factor ?
Liquitex artist paints are holding but have "rubbery feeling" (did not put the clear coat yet on the other box painted with Liquitex).

Read the can for instructions with Polyurathane.
Oil finishes do not bond to each other like lacquer does.
You must wait 72 hours or more between coats of poly.
If you spray on a light coat you can recoat in 30 minutes since the poly will not be cured enough to form a film...it will bond to the first coat.
You also have to sand between coats of poly.
Poly will not stick to itself without sanding once it is cured. 400 grit is what I use. Wetsanding it best.

I think I know now John:
I used Krylon Home décor durable Latex, indoor-outdoor.
Plus can't find any matches of the same spray can on the site, might be discontinued...
So might not be durable.

Thanks also for all the tips.

What is funny is that I can peel each layer of paint until the last one that is on the primer...
Thanks !

This is why I just buy finished enclosures from PPP. There isn't anything I can get in a can that is as touch or nice-looking as their finishes.

I understand. But I would still like to paint my own enclosures.  I will try with the Krylon having a higher content of VOCs.  This one was smelling like Windex (ammoniac and alcohol).  ...  Next episode soon.
