Finally found and fixed the grounding problem in my BSIAB2 from GGG. Got another problem/question now.

When the effect is on, I can turn the volume all the way up and there is NO sound coming out.
The sound only comes thru as I turn the Gain knob up and even as I turn it up the volume still seems to increase as I turn the Gain up.

Now, I dont have to turn the Volume ALL the way up but, I do have to turn the Gain up to get anything.

IS THIS NORMAL FOR THIS CIRCUIT?
SHOULD THE GAIN CONTROL ALSO INCREASE THE VOLUME?

Looking at the circuit the gain control actually turns the input into the second jfets down to ground if pots  at  0. So with the gain at 0 and the volume at 10 there will be no signal. In my BSIAB2 i put a 100k resistor in the circuit in series with the pot to ground so that when the gain is at 0 there will still be some signal ging to the next stage.

If anyone has any other thoughts on this it could prove me wrong though

Ice,

Thanks for the info. I definitely want to get this fixed. Now, being a layman. Could you let me know where I should put the 100K resistor? Which lug of the 500K Gain pot should I put it on? Should I put it between lugs 2 and 1 or lugs 3 and 1?

Yes  between lug 1 and ground, but it doesnt have to be 100k . Use a different values till you get the result that suits you. The larger the value the more distorted the lowest gain setting will be, but the lower  the value the less volume you will get at lowest gain setting. So its a balance of whats best for you.

Would it help and/or work better if I installed a 500K Reverse Log pot for the Gain? Or, does a Rev Log pot still sit at 0 when it is turned all the way down?
Basically, is there any way around this issue without having to solder in a resistor?

Thanks for all the help.

When the pot is at minimum resistance then its at 0, whether its a reverse log or a standard linear pot. All you really need to do is disconect the wire that goes from ground to the lug of the pot ( at the pot side is easiest) they solder the resistor directly to the lug of the pot then solder the wire to the other end of the resistor. (cut the resistor leads as short as possible to make things a bit neater and insulate it with tape or heat shrink tubing. Job done.
