Here is a couple of cellphone photos of my recent build.

Top side lacks the matching (with the knobs) leds. I made a brown led from clear white led sanding it and dipping it to dye and lacquer  ;D I would also like to add a big maybe carved aluminum plate between the foot switches to tell the names of the effect.

Fitting the ufinished effects.

Transformer and the bottom part.

Transformer and the PS board.

I used yeeshkuls very nice PS-board layout (tested fine). Thanks again  8)

Cant wait to finish this one (OS[x2],RM,FF,Neovibe,HW89,ZD,EAtrem,SmallStone,Rebote2)

Cheers,

Hi there,

Is the enclosure you are using the 14-inch Hammond 1456? If so, does it seem pretty sturdy? I'd love to here your thoughts on the enclosure.

I've been thinking about getting one of those. I've only built two effects so far, but it seems like buying one of those would be more economical than buying a different enclosure, jacks, and cables for every project.

Thanks!

Mike, it is the 1456 but I'm not sure about the widht. I can't measure it right now - I don't have it here. I will put in couple of supporting wood blocks when the pcb's are on their places. I think this enclosedure needs them although it is quite sturdy. I dont want the top to bend a slightest bit when stepping on th buttons.

Hi mat, really nice build here! I like that coloured idea.
Can you tell us what are all of that fx?

I am building a similar multifx by now, but is smaller. it fits in a laptop bag, which makes it really a "take me everywhere" thing.

I will be packing all my favourite fx in that pedalboard:
Ts-808
Big muff
Rat
CP-9 (comp)
CE-2 (chorus)
Rebote 2,5 (delay)

But I still have room for one more fx, can you give me an idea?

Beside all of this, i also includes:
An fx loop
Sansamp GT-2 (with 3 band tone and a bright switch)

And by now,  I am planing to add:
A graphic eq, maybe 10 band (or the one with 5 at GGG)
A DI, to be capable of running directly into the main mix, and phantom powering
The powering circuit for the guitar preamp cable
And a headphone amp

So, please give me some recommendation about this, I am kind of stuck right now.

Thanks and congratulations!

Auke Haarsma

looking really good!

Are you going to stick with the white plastic washers? I think metal washers would really suit your enclosure much better.

Thanks natalio  :icon_biggrin: The effects are:
-orange squeezer compressor (option to switch on another one)
-rangemaster positive ground with germanium transistor and input and output cap selections
-fuzz face positive ground with germanium transistor
-neovibe
-highway89 distortion
-zendrive(style) overdrive
-EA tremolo
-small stone phaser
-rebote 2 delay with additional foot switches to turn on more repeats or more repeat volume

I also choosed relatively small enclosedure it to be easily carried.

Nice selection  :icon_cool:

It depends entirely what kind of music You like to play and what kind of amp/guitar You use.

QuoteBeside all of this, i also includes:
An fx loop
Sansamp GT-2 (with 3 band tone and a bright switch)

I might also add an effects loop afterwards because it is so easy to pu in. But first I see if I need it at all.

You need a booster there! Check out the AMZ mosfet boost, ROG Omega and the likes.

I have one of these enclosures and am doing a very similar build.  The top of the enclosure does give way just a little bit with some force.  When pressed down near the middle of the surface, you can depress it slightly.  Not a major problem, but I will be reinforcing the top with something like some small L-brackets.  Overall, it's a very nice enclosure and the black surface has a very nice feel -- it's not shiny black, nor matte, but it has just the slightest amount of very fine texture.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the information. I plan on ordering a bunch of stuff this week, enclosure included. I'm not sure what I'll put in it yet, but a buffer, boosters, overdrive, and fuzzes are definitely going to make it.

I do think the one mat is using is the 14-inch. I think I might get the 17-inch. It's only a few dollars more, and the top is 25+% thicker-- 2.06 millimeters for the 17-inch and 20-inch enclosures, compared to 1.63 millimeters for the 14-inch and 6.5-inch. It's also a few inches deeper.

I'm not concerned with space since it will probably never leave my house. I just don't want a dozen little enclosures. Plus, I can toss the 17-inch on a shelf in my rack for storage.

By the way, I have a semi-accurate Sketch-up model for the 20-inch enclosure that I drew up if anyone is interested.

Thanks again! I hope mine turns out as nice as yours! :)

The one I bought is 17 inches.  I'll do another next year and go for the 20 incher, but that's because I am using about a quarter of the space on the 17 incher for a switching system.  The top of this enclosure IS pretty stable and doesn't bend or move very much BUT we're building these things to be stomped on and after 5, 10, 15 years, so that's probably why it's even a minor issue.  Good luck!
