Hi fellow strange fellows.

I posted a pic of a modded analog delay in the pics thread. But I've also made a bit of progress on the Power Glove that controls the beast.

I thought you might be interested in this:

It is a flex sensor that acts as a pot. I'm using it to control both delay time and regen on the delay. My proto looks like this, along with a photo resistor to control how fast my coffee pot brews java in the morning.

Probably a bit out off the mainstream here, but I think there are some interesting applications for alternate interfaces.

Another set of cool controller ideas can be found here:

I'd love to hear your feedback!

when i was at berklee, there was a neat synth course called "alternate controllers" where a few people were doing some interesting things with power gloves, etc.  mostly interfacing with max/msp and csound via ethernet using the osc (open sound control) protocol.  lots of good info here: http://opensoundcontrol.org/

fun idea.

The Tone God

I had a power glove. For game play it sucked. It may have been the controller but the fingers barely worked and I won't even start on the position control.

Is there a reason you chose to put the flex resistors so close to the wrist?  If you put them more towards the tips of your fingers (you'll need a different glove then, one with fingers on it) you will have a bigger resistance range in the sensors and more interactivity with your fingers.

hey arph, in order to make the glove usable while playing the guitar, I had to cut off the finger tips. This limited how far down I could go. The glove shown is truly a hack, and is not very sturdy. Whoever wants to be the brave sole to engineer this further could probably come up with a more usable solution.
