Boss CS-3 clean blend mod idea?

I just did modded my CS-3 for true bypass by removing Q4 and Q5, jumpering Q4, and wiring yp the footswitch as normal.  Studying the schematic I had the idea that I could possibly use the now unused bypass line that went through Q5 for a clean blend path.  I was thinking all I need to do is use the pads for Q5 and wire a pot between the outside pads and ground, like a master volume for that path.  Will this work or will I have any problems with feedback or anything?   The schematic is below.

Great idea and yes I think it will work, but not quite that easily.  I would think the "blend" effect would be negligible that way, or worse: oscillation.

I'd think you'd at least need another buffer there.  A search on "blend" yielded this:  http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/BarcodeVeroLayouts/album120/MiniBlenderPCBLayout.gif.html

Yeah, I wasn't sure if it'd be that easy. I was worried that the pot might become a feedback path since both of the FET's that were removed were on the same side of the input buffer.   I went ahead and tried it using a 100K pot and it just acted almost like a switch. Perhaps if I used a 1K-10K pot it might work better?    Or, I'm thinking maybe I could cut the trace between Q5 and Q4 and wire the pot from the input side of Q5 to the output, bypassing the output buffer. That seems rather simple as well.

BTW, how do you like the true bypass on that thing?

It sounds the same as far as I can tell and it works fine.  It was my second Boss true-bypass job and it's not nearly as difficult or time consuming as people make it out to be.
