Monolith Oracle Clone Static/Crackle

Building a clone of the Monolith Oracle and I keep having this issue.
When the guitar volume is all the way down there is a constant crackle/static.
It sounds almost like a loose connection, but I've tried multiple setups.
Built is multiple times on breadboard, soldered Ptp, tried a bunch of transistors (that are silent when used in other circuits), used different components, all powered by battery and nothing seems to fix it.
Completely stuck on what my be causing it.

thats to be expected, if there isn't much signal to amplify a lot, noise will be amplified a lot.
might want to lower the gain of the circuit.

Put long cords on it. Move it around the room. Wi-Fi box? Wall-power wiring? Lamps? Fans? Inside a metal refrigerator?

If it gets worse/better with location, avoid that location or improve your shielding.
