I have SPDT mini-toggle I'd like to use as a power switch, but I'm not sure how to wire it up (sad, I know -- and I'm not at home to try anything). All I'm wanting to do is break the circuit, so I thought about doing it this way:

Won't this make the circuit hot in position 1 and center, then off in position 2? I know an SPST is what I need, but I'm wanting to do this in a pinch and I really like the size of the mini toggle I have now...

i have one with on and on positions and the middle you put the hot then out on any tab. You could use a MM to find where the conductivity is at.

If your red lines indicate wires, then you will never be able to turn off your circuit no matter what the switch position is.
Remove the wire that is shown between the two switch lugs and you should be OK.

Heh, I noticed that a second ago, right after my post above, and fixed it.
