Hey guys,
Sorry for the noobish question. I want to build the MAD PROFESSOR blue delay on vero, and saw that OP275 is needed.
So I've ordered from ebay op275gpz and It's realy small, won't fit any socket.
What did I do wrong?
thought about soldering wires to the 8 pins and then solder the wires to the vero. I know there's a risk damaging the IC. What do U think?

Thanks.

So what you're saying is that you mistakenly ordered the "S" surface mount instead of the "P" through hole.

As far as I know there isn't a surface mount to through hole socket available.

Instead of messing with trying to solder "legs" onto this thing, I would just get the right through hole part.

Or.....solder away and hope for the best!
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

That's what I was thinking but wanted to see to be sure.

Do a internet search for soic to dip adapter and you'll get lots of hits... but it's probably going to cost less to just get the dip IC depending on the device and if it's available.

eg.https://www.sparkfun.com/products/494

or diy http://www.evilmadscientist.com/2011/basic-kludges-5-minute-soic-dip-adapter/
