thx bioroids...that's not a good new...i can find here only HCF/HEFs...:(

hi gigimarga,

i doubt in the moment that using 2 cd4016 instead of the hcf's will solve the problem as i already tried that trick with no luck. same bleeding through, same pot range problem. so better save your money. and sorry to the inventers of that circuit - i can't hide that i'm a little bit disappointed, but don't mean to offend you by any means. ;)

regards

I solved the range pot, as i posted above: you need a 37-38K pot (impossible!) or, as i did, use a 100K pot taperd with a 62K resistor and it will work as charm :)

Fuzz Aldryn

thank you for that advise. but i also tried this with no succes - with a tapered 100k pot it even gets worse. as i wrote above i only got a usable pot range from about 10k to 25k. so in the moment i got a 22k pot for the freq.

Just finished my build, I used John's PCB with HEF4016BP.  My FREQ range is fine, sweeps from very low to very high through the whole 50K, but I have a persistent carrier bleed.  Tried 4066/4069 as well, they don't work.

i have 4016BE on order from digikey, i'll report back when i test with them.

That said, there must be a way to revise this design to support the other 4016 varieties.    Any ideas?

gigimarga

I hate this carrier bleed because i love the effect :)
Here i haven't a lot of options for the ICs, so i will wait...

Where do you live?  I've ordered 25 of them, if it works I'll sell you a few at cost?

gigimarga

I am living in Romania...i found a lot of HEF/HCF here, but no CD.
