There are so many 386 opamps on this page:

which is the best one for the ruby (ill possibly be running it at 12v) and whats the difference between them in terms of the additional letters after the part numbers. i know the first two letters represent the manufacturer but what do the letters following the '368' stand for?

Thanks everyone

Dunno.

I used 'N' in mine.  It works very well with both 12v and 9v supplies.

Does it really matter which suffix they have?

N-4 can handle 18V Max the Rest 12V, it's all pretty clear on the Datasheet.

Just avoid the Surface mount parts on there... you want the 8DIP Style other than that, any of them are fine N1,2,3 or 4 but i'd suggest the N-3, purely because it's the cheapest on there.
