MXR blowtorch bass distortion anyone?

My bassist shows up to practice yesterday with the MXR blowtorch. It was the coolest sounding bass fuzz I've heard in a while. 3 band eq with shiftable mids and a clean blend. I assume it's new because I had never heard of it before...  I'm dying to build one! Does anyone know of a schematic floating around? Is this based off of another design?

If it's anything like the mxr m-80 bass preamp/distortion you're in for a heck of a build.  Surface mount craziness, tons of components, and no luck with a schematic.  It would be a fun pedal to mod though, cause it's a little too synthy for me.

Incidentally, i have always wondered about the similarities between my PT-80 clone's housing and the blowtorch.  Mine pre-dates theirs by about a year and was definitely up floating around on the net.

that looks like it would be an intense build, but i am interested to hear what the pedal sounds like.

I looked it up on Youtube. It's a really variable fuzz. It's probably a pretty big board because of the EQ, etc. I'm not sure I like having the EQ built in like that. Might as well have an EQ outside of the effect. It would be kind of weird to send your signal between four or five EQs by the time it gets to your amp, which just might have an EQ. Still, some very interesting sounds. I'd like to see a schematic if one ever surfaces.
