Purple Plexi 800 way too loud

volume pot is too bunched up at first quarter turn . matching the output level of this effect to the 3 other dirt boxs on the board is the goal , also retaining the character of the purple plexi 800 .

i noticed the " lpb1 too loud thread " but i am a bit confused as to how lowering the value of the volume pot would effect the performance ... is this a fact , using a lower value pot will reduce the output level of the effect ?

is there other ways to achieve this ? the device already has a tone control and i do not want to add any more knobs or holes to the chassis .

"Too bunched up" indicates linear pot - try a logarithmic pot for a better "spread" (omnomnom).

Put a 47K in series with Vol-3, see how it goes.

i tried this today , a 47k , then a log pot instead of a linear , and i am extremely pleased with the results . with the volume pot set at 1/3rd up it is equal to the rat at half , which is about unity , or over a bit , but where we run it . the first attempt , res on pin 3 didnt work well , so i tried it on pin one and bingo , i guess i learned how to read pot pins today as well .

whipped up a colorsound one knob to go in her rig as the germ fuzz factory , well outside in 95 degree heat , it aint soundin so hot ... i think her rig may be all done . hallelujia !!!!

Frig me sideways it happened AGAIN.

People gaining assistance from me rather than just me spamming the forum with questions about positive grounding...

Though if someone can let me know if I was on the wrong side of the pot with the 47K R or if the pot was reversed it would please me. I was thinking R in series Vol-3 forcing the voltage divider to not be able to get as close to the to the signal end of the pot, but should I have been thinking series with Vol-1 (which appears to be GND to me), i.e. arse about tit concept of how the voltage divider works in the volume knobs?
