so i got an old mxr dyna comp that i did the Monte Allums mod to, added a dc jack and added an LED.  ever since i added the LED the pedal freaks out wen i plug in the dc jack.  works fine on battery tho.  i assume it has something to do w/ the led.  any incite?

Please be more specific about the freak part of the story. How does it freak out. When does it freak out (when you push the switch or as soon as the DC jack is plugged in?)

Sounds more like the DC Jack actually. The LED is working on battery so it does something right. Check the wiring...
A link to the mod would be helpful.
Also check out the "What to do when it doesn't work thread" (One of the first)

You using the dc jack as a ground path?

some of the time the LED will start to flicker and sometimes it'll just go out completely.  i installed the LED myself w/ a 3PDT switch the same way the beginner npn boost pedal is wired up.  i have a really low resistance on the led and its super bright.  i'm gonna put a lot more on it.  could that be a problem?

But how low resistance?
How did you connect it?

Yes. Please link to the whole project/mod.
It the Dynacomp have a series resistance on the input to regulate the power then you can't take a whole lotta juice for an LED.
However it worked with a battery, right?

musiclikscreams

oh ya and it only freaks out wen i plug a cable into the output jack

the resistence is only like 350 haha
its connected the same was as on the beginner npn boost is and its grounded to the input jack

i kno its not the mod because the problem didn't exist right after the mod.  the problem existed after i added the LED
here's the link for the mod anyways: http://monteallums.com/pedal_mods.html#mxrdyna
