I got a couple of the dano's and like em. It sounds great with my FUCHS lucky seven and my bassman head. The stack nicely and dont have alot of noise. Im impressed!

The Banzai Cold Fusion is a 98% Centauer clone. A bit different voiced in the mids and slightly raugher clipping due to the AA114 diodes.
The CF has cheaper Siemens and WIMA stacked MF caps on the board, maybe they alter the sound a bit too.

Apparently the only two actual differences between the circuit are two cap values. Otherwise it is EXACT.

Wow.

Just as an addendum, Bill Finnegan usually engages in VERY long conversations with folks interested in buying a Klon from him, and even discourages people from buying it if he feels that it is a poor match to their playing circumstance.

I can attest to this. Bill told me not to buy a Klon when I talked to him. My Koch's clean channel is hard to push (huge headroom, very Twin-like) and the overdrive channel doesn't really respond that well to being smacked harder. He was very nice about it. I bought it anyways, and paid a premium because I was impatient. And then I sold it because it was worth more as part of a down payment on a house then it was a tool in my sonic toolbox.

Oh, **that** place!!! Thank Jebus it's been censored here.

The differences between the 2 circuits are:
The 2 power filter caps changed from 47uf to 100uf.
The opamp is changed from a 4559 to a TL072.
There is no diode switching option.
All the other values are identical.

Well, now we know what it is. That puts that to rest.

Greg,

Do you know what their Drive pedal is based off? The silver one?

I think it sounds even better than the Transparent Overdrive.

Thanks.

our friends at the * gear * page (TPG) have figured out that the transparent od is a timmy and the fuzz is a frantone peach fuzz

it's not people on TGP that found out, it's a member of the "other forum" who reversed it... and the real, verified Klon schem is available online if you search well (it's more complex than the Timmy)
