Schematic for Sparkle Drive or Similar?

I'm doing some research on parallel blending and I wanted to check out this beast.  Does it use a Master Blend before the Volume Knob or a Summing Amplifier with separate volume controls?

Which method might be cleaner with less noise?

would anyone discuss this with me?  it looks like a dual-ganged pot is used to control both the amount of clean sent through that op-amp buffer as well as the mix of Overdrive connected to the output of that buffer.  Is that the correct way to read that?

Turning the "Clean" Control down passes less input to the buffer and more Overdrive to its output.
