Tonepad Tubescreamer To Fulldrive?

I wanted to build the tonepad layout and replace components to get as close to Fulldrive 2 sound. Anyone know how?

I *think* I've seen some info out there hinting at the guts; including (IIRC) higher value Drive pot and a certain clipping diode combo.   Try an interwebs search for "fullclone 2".

Do you or anyone know what kind of germanium transistor and what type of "round epoxy diode" is being used?

Sounds like an easy conversion?  Anybody done it?

The type and leakage of the output buffer shouldn't really matter. I don't know anything about the diode, except that there have been a lot of different variations on the FDII, especially in terms of clippers, so it probably pays to try different stuff out.
One thing I don't get is the 1M resistor at the end--doesn't seem to make any sense in parallel with the 100k.
