I've got some ac128 to spare and I want to know if there are any build using these?
Perhaps a big muff ect

I find it funny how I can have close to 1000 components, yet I never seem to have enough parts to make a project. :icon_eek:

Yea I did a GE BMP, but like it better now as NPN Neg Gnd. with 2n5088's, perhaps if I had tried with low leakage / high gain...I never had G'es I though would be good compliments for a BMP build...have tried lower gain Si's in them, they really do need the higher Hfe transistors EEI.
Then there's 1,000's of FF derivatives, but just perf-bread a good solid batch of sockets and long-legger-resistors [easy to solder to, see, and connect parts to above the circuit board. Use some trimpots instead of fixed R values. Don't be afraid to splice caps into offboard wires etc...
Use 8 pin socket for greater rigidity.
Use large-side of where you think a resistance value should end up, that way you can pull the reducing resistors off it's above board legs instead of having to lift and replace to get the large value, small values via tagged on pot or other fixed R are N/P...that or stick a trimpot there.
For the Fuzzface Q2C bias resistor, I like to use a 4k7 + 10k pot, so I can have evenly spaced spread of VR [easy to hit 'center' or other bias] on the pot, ranging between 4k7 and 14k7 accomodates the more usable FF transistors.
Always easy to go to a smaller Value than existing capacitor when theres access to a wire coming off it, put a cap in the wire ]splice[...once spliced in the line, can easily be jumpered, wrap a wire around it's leads.
Study the various FF or other schematics and make similar mod accomodations in any perfbread testboards you desire.
Then make a testjig, you can try out your testboard in.
grab a small parts box, poke holes for the pots, poke alligatored input/output/ground wires in [connect them to the input/output jacks you'' put in the metal [RACO] box which easily connects underneath, making a base and jack house, use the RACO screws to connect the two boxes...plop the circuit in the top box [open one side of the top box, and trim sides as you see fit] connect the three insulated alligator clips to in / out / Gnd. poke the pots into the full side holes you 'poked' [drilled etc.]...tweek to hearts content. Makes it easy to set your 'breaded' circuit aside yet keep it intact as modded, frees up the BB for other circuits, allows you to experiment completely with, and try all different kinds of FF's.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

There's one used in Skreddy's Screwdriver...It doesn't require a high gain device either. Approx. 45~65 hFE is what I remember.
The tall hFE is used in the xistor that procedes it! A BC109-C at 600 hFE minimum. A typical MOSFET xistor is used in the first gain
stage and of course a high ratio of "mojeaux" inducing related components is another part of it's tasty voice.

Ask Marc for details re: it's construction as he is a member here I think....
Just experiment with the "block diagram" I've verbally pulled your coat with and the results will surprise you with the simplicity of
combining 3 gain stages for an effective FX pedal!

Yes I've built a FF, with serious mods that I call the Alchemist. Very very cool sounds

Kristoffereide,

Your signature is an apt description of what has made my collection start looking like I'm an involuntary shop owner.

As Granny (of Beverly Hillbillies fame)would say, "Pity-Full, Pity-Full".

PM me for the Screwdriver schema if it sounds interesting.
