Tonebender transistor questions

I tried searching but couldn't completely find what i needed. I want to build a Tonebender (haven't decided whether i want the 2 or 3 dial one, most likely 3). Anyway, are there any good replacements for the germanium transistors that are in the schem. I believe they are OC81D transistors. Or does anyone know a place to find these transistors, decently cheap? I was also looking into the NPN Silicon version of the pedal. Has anyone tried this? Does it sound atleast close to the GE version of the pedal?

nevermind. I think i found what i was looking for. Also, i keep reading about GEO's how to choose transistors or something. I cant seem to find it though. does anyone have a link?
