Ok Well I know I have said before that everything seemed to be A-Ok with my multiFX grounding. And it did, with the modulation effects, they work perfectly, 100% silent with this patten:

AC Mains in, 3rd prong to Star. Power Supply Grounded to Star. Effect grounded to power supply (thus reaching star) . Signal ground to Star.

Bam, perfect, no hum no nothing through a 50 watt amp maxed out. Beautiful.

However, when I go to a Big Muff, I try the same thing and I get a ground buzz.

I have tried the above scheme and I have also tried grounding the effect directly to the signal ground, leaving it off the star. Same thing. Adding it to star doesnt make a difference.

It doesn't seem to make a difference if the "ground" comes from the PSU or directly from the star. Now granted there is going to be some hiss with high gain effects, but there shouldnt be a buzzzzz I dont think. My signal wire is all shielded to ground (but it only removes some slight hum, not the buzz)

ANY info would be great! It seems like i have tried everything. Also, I have tried "floating" the Power supply...and the PSU simply did not work, So am I missing something here?

Ok I just tried another one that has some promise:

Float the power supply.

Carry "ground" from PSU to effect. Tie in signal ground to effect. Now I only get some buzzing if the guitar volume is up, if i roll it back or put my hands on the strings, its silent...

Seems like i'm getting closer? (to my home)

** it seems the noise added by grounding "through" the PSU is a ground hum on top of the buzz. Where as grounding both the supply and the effect and the signal directly to ground is only a "buzz" that can be eliminated by rolling back to guitar volume.

FWIW, I have now tried it with a 9v adaptor, a popular one that doesnt take up much room :icon_lol:

I simply tied the negative to my signal ground, as if it were in a stompbox, and i get the exact same buzz. So I DONT think that its in the transformer/power supply or anythign like that.

But i cant figure out why it would be buzzing, my guitar doesnt buzz when its plugged straight in...or if i tie the Send/Return test leads together...

Sorry mods_ not trying to drive anyone crazy one this, just trying to present ALL information possible

If i use the onboard transformer, external 9v PSU, Whatever, the noise is definitely coming FROM the guitar. Position 2 results in the cleanest guitar signal i've ever heard with a Skreddy Fuzzface on Full volume AND sustain.

However all other positions result in the buzz.

Now, the wierd thing is this: If i use my BYOC Ram's Head in a normal signal chain (real pedals, etc) I don't really get buzz no matter which pickup. So the noise is definitely coming From the guitar, but for some reason only the multiFX is amplifying it.
