Hello all,

I'm playing with tone stacks and using the Duncan Tone Stack Calculator. In the Big Muff layout it show R4 but when I look at this schematic http://www.muzique.com/misc/presence.pdf I don't see R4.

I'm a bit confused. I'm wanting to insert the Big Muff into my BSIAB2 but I don't see how the connections would be made based on the Duncan tool. Would I take signal out of the circuit at the junction of the pot and R4?

R4 is needed for the simulation - it represents the input impedance of the next stage. It's value (tinker with it in Duncan's sim and see the results) influences the tone stack's response (mostly it loses volume and flattens response for lower values). It's not a part of the tone stack (which is why Jack left it out), but you *have* to take it into account because it is working *with* it. Figure out what your next stage's input impedance is and sim away. 1M is a pretty good ballpark figure for input stages.
