Cut the trace/trace.

A little cut with a knife or drill out the copper usually works. You want a break in the connectivity...

Welcome to the forum!

Those are trace cuts. I use a 1/8" drill bit (don't hold me to that exact measurement) that I twist in my fingers over the hole I want to remove the track from (on the copper side of the board), and the bit scores away the copper.

You don't need to drill the whole way through--just make sure there's no copper touching on either side :)
