I need Help with my DIY Box! Random Noise Issues!!

I am making a modification of the ts-808 as a project for school and When I finished with it, I played through it and there are some really random noise problems.  When you hit a note, it will sustain for an extremely long amount of time (which is good) and then it kind've abruptly dies or fizzles out.  Also, when you run your hand up and down the guitar, it makes cracking and poping noises.  I hooked this circuit up before I put it on the perf board and this never happened.  I am using jrc4558 opamps and it seems like this noise is being introduced at the second one which is in the tone stage just like in the original ts808.  Has anyone ran into this kind've problem or can offer any advice???
