I found some PnP germ trannies in a surplus shop with consistently (fairly) low leakage ~ about 100 micoamps for a batch of about 20. Nothing much higher than this in the leakage dept. for all of them. All the gain readings are in the 90 to 120 area.  They sound great in the Rangemaster and Tonebender so far. I have no idea who made 'em tho. They're marked HR-39 and above N-41 (steel can like a 2SB with a blue sealant at the pins). I can't find them in my x-ref books. Anyone know what these are - manufacturer etc. They're gems. Fun to dirty them up in a Tonbender mixing them up a bit  with some leakier 2SBs, but I like the crunch they deliver standalone in the Rangemaster.

Thanks for all the info. I'm also curious as to who made these high quality germanium devices - if anyone knows. An unfamiliar code for me HR-39 not 2SBxxx or ACxxx or 2Nxxxx. The case style looks like it's probably a Japanese mfr.
