hello,

where do any of you uk people get your enclosures. I used to use maplin
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1751

but they are really expensive and have run out of my enclosures.  Could anyone recomend a suitablew replacement? 120 X 65 X 40

thanks,

Owen

www.bitsbox.co.uk awesome service, cheap & fast delivery, brilliant prices, I couldn't make pedals without them, fantastic guys. Only issue is you need paypal, for those without www.bowood-electronics.com no experience with them myself but looks pretty decent and good rates.

Rapid have a reasonable selection http://www.rapidonline.com/Tools-Fasteners-Production-Equipment/Cases/Metal-Cases and their service is excellent, I buy most of my stuff from them. Bardwell's have these http://www.bardwells.co.uk/subcats.asp?catid=BOX04 they're the same size as the Hammond boxes a lot of people use only cheaper and not as nicely finished.

I've been using these recently as an alternative from Maplin: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1728
LF10L for small 1 or 2 knob builds and LF11M for anything bigger. Nice cost saving compared to the diecast ones, and the 1.5mm thickness is sturdy enough.

When I was using the Hammond-style boxes, I used to order a reasonable quantity from Banzai and wait a few days for them to come from Germany. That was when the Euro exchange rate was a lot better though.
Bringing you yesterday's technology tomorrow.

+1 on Rapid.

I only use Maplin in an emergency / lack-of-patience situation.

Poundland?  What on earth did you make that box out of - that's brilliant!

www.farnell.co.uk has the Boss/BIMBOX enclosures that D*A*M uses/used.

+1 on Rapid. Every now and then they have a sale where everything goes for the cheapest listed price, plus free delivery if you spend more than £30. Get on the mailing list and you`ll be informed when the sales come up.
