I have a pile of blue film caps all labelled from .01K to .1K. Specifically they are marked like this:

MF
250V
.047K

I haven't seen the "K" designation before, what does that translate to in uf ? Are these useful or some giant value cap?

Thanks

It doesn't translate to capacitance. It's a tolerance indicator, 10%.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

biggy boy

That one is a .047 uf  or  a 47 nF or 47000 pF

Here's a nice cross-reference chart that I made up that I always use.

Pretty cool chart Jim!  Thanks for the link.
