I'm planning on building the Little Gem amp soon enough, and am somewhat unsatisfied with what I hear from the overdrive.  So in an attempt to give me more options, I want to add a 386 based diode clipping overdrive in the mix, with a pot and a switch to control it.  I have an idea of how it should be done, but if someone knows what I'm saying and KNOWS how to do it, I'd be happy to hear their explanation.

Maybe just put a pair of back to back diodes to ground on the output?

I want it switchable, so it can be turned completely off, and to have a pot so I can control how much clipping happens.
