Atomic Distortion

The Atomic Distortion uses an LM386 audio amplifier chip to drive a JFET stage that was partially inspired by the effects at ROG. The controls consist of a gain pot that controls the level of the signal going into the FET distortion stage, a self-explanatory volume pot, a voicing switch with lead (a treble and mid boost), rhythm (no boost), and boost settings, and a flame switch that pushes the LM386 into distortion, creating a heavily distorted sound.

This effect can go from a natural crunch all the way to a crazy saturated sound. It also has a healthy boost. I am very satisfied with it and I would like to hear your comments and
questions.

Very cool looking project, I may have to try it at some point. I just need a 386...Maybe there's one buried back there.

I'm going to have to look at doing that. The problem is that I don't have a good have a good microphone or cab sim. (Plus I don't play guitar as well as a lot of the sound clips I have heard.

Don't worry about playing well...a good sound clip showcasing a pedal won't have a ten minute solo and shredding, but rather a few notes and chords repeated as you change settings on the pedal to show how it sounds. If you don't have a setup to record, that's understandable though.

Meh. Last night I tried recording direct to audacity and recording with a crappy little electret mic, neither of which gave a satisfactory result. I have a couple more tricks up my sleeve but I doubt I'll get a sound clip anytime soon.
I should be able to get a perf up if nothing gets in my way.

You could try Boogex from Voxengo as an ampsim/cabsim. It comes with a pretty broad set of cabs but it's IR-based so you can always add more.
