I'm considering building one of these but I'm a bit confused about some of the build specs.

I found the PCB layout file here: http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=71216.0

What should the supply voltage be? One schematic I found on JC's site has a power transformer but with two different supply voltages http://www.lynx.bc.ca/~jc/acoustic360schm.gif while another I found http://www.lynx.bc.ca/~jc/acoustic360piazza.gif shows +25vdc as the only supply voltage.

Also, the variamp control calls for a 1.5Hy inductor but there is also a inductor simulator circuit mentioned somewhere. Has anyone tried both? If so, which seemed to sound better? Where can you find a 1.5Hy inductor? Edit: Forgot to ask where the simulator circuit is actually posted. I can't seem to find it.

Thanks for the help in advance! This has always been one of my favorite amps on so many recordings and my Line6 Bass Pod doesn't even come close.

The second schematic still has the +36v line coming off the 2.2k resistor and leading to the ETF switch, it just hasn't been labelled "+36v".
Bringing you yesterday's technology tomorrow.

Thanks for the input. With the PCB file (expressPCB) what would be the supply voltage on it? I realize that it may be difficult to work off of a pcb layout instead of a schematic, but I can't figure out what schematic it goes to. It looks like the PCB only has one place to attach a supply voltage but I can't tell for sure because I don't know where all the offboard wiring goes.

Once again, thanks for looking at the schematics for me! I haven't looked at schematics more detailed than simple stompboxes in years!

Also hoping that either JC or Charlie will chime in since they're obviously the ones that I know have built this.

Ok! I think I figured out how to read JC's hand drawn schematic (kinda surprised that it took this long since it looks an awful lot like my own hand writing!)

Now I just have to get the parts together and build one!
