dunlop footcontroller as speed pedal for neovibe?

i have a neovibe and i have a footcontroller for a dunlop univibe. any suggestions about what pot to put in the footcontroller that will control the speed of my neovibe? the travel of the footcontroller is not the full rotation of the pot.

I am a newbie, but I have had my confidence boosted by the successfull completion of a GGG ITS8 and BSIAB2. I am wrenching up my courage to try a Neo-vibe. I was interested in using an expression pedal for speed control. I would appreciate any insights.
