I have been looking for Stacked Dual Concentric 100KA and 100KB pots. I have searched and searched and have come up with nothing. There are lots of 500K and 250K pots around for guitars, but no 100's. I was hoping the forum could suggest parts suppliers I really only know smallbear and mouser, and they are great but they don't have these pots.

the stacked type are really hard to find.

A thought... if you only need a few, you might be able to swap with someone who has re-housed and re-potted the Danalectro Cool Cats.

Do the Danelectrode's have two 100K's  in them? I thought they were one 1M and one 100K. I have found those for sale and was wondering if they might work. I guess I could get a 250K/250K and make it into a 100K/100K.

That's the approach I would take (and have done in the past!) - swap the wafers out of a 500k/500k (the easiest sort to find in the UK) for the values you actually want.

I use futurlec for 90% of my stuff. They take a long time to ship, but they have a good inventory, easy-to-navigate layout and pretty good e-mail support
I use Smallbear for some specialist parts, mostly potentiometers as they have a good selection of high-quality ones
lastly, eBay! I can't stress this enough, you can get great value packs there for much less than anywhere else. Often you can get them with free worldwide shipping from Asia, it's worth a check (I recently bought a pack of 50 J201's, large supply of multi-turn trimpots, LEDs and more from Partspipe, an eBay seller)

Your efforts are appreciated Biggy Boy.  Unfortunately, the Sayal listing is dual-ganged.  Dual-concentric does not equal dual-ganged.  In dual-ganged, one knob moves both wipers.  In dual-concentric, there is an upper and lower portion of the shaft, and the two sections can be moved independently.  One will often see something like this on pedals that have separate treble and bass controls.  Old car radios used to use these for treble/bass or volume/tone controls.  Danelectro has been a prolific user of dual-concentric pots in both their instruments and their pedals.

The distinction is important to grasp, because both types can be pricey and hard to get hold of.  Not the sort of thing one likes to shell out big money and wait impatiently for, only to find out they are of the other type.  Just trying to avoid heartache here.

Thanks for the heads up Mark, good point!

If it exists mouser probably has it; the challenge is wading through the phone book sized catalog to track it down.  Do yourself a favor, and make an afternoon of it.  Pour yourself your favorite beverage (alcoholic is preferred if you're of age- I go with a nice cold Hoegaarden) and sit outside in the sun with the catalog.  Eventually you'll find what you're looking for.  Remember, it's about the journey, not the destination.

These sorts of pots are often the kind of thing one finds in surplus outlets, simply because they tend to be unique items with unique purposes; something that a manufacturer hadmade for them....and then went belly up.  I've got a bunch of dual concentrics of different types, and they were all found in surplus places.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I was at A1 electronics the other day searching threw all the "junk" and didn't even think of old car stereo pots. I have one in my closet I'm going to rip it open and see what's in it.

I think this might be my best approach. I was thinking of changing their values with resistors, but swapping the wafers is a great idea. I have a few junk pots i can rip open to check out before i ruin a new pot. This is great to cause ideally I would like to have 2 x 100KA and 1 x 100kB that are dual shaft. My thoughts with all off this is putting two big muff in one box and having the look of only three knobs but two different settings.

I have been slowly going through the mouser catalogue for pots, but its a bathroom book so i haven't spent the time with it that i need to.

thanks for all the help folks.
