  It started out as a Shin EI FZ-1, but I put extra resistors on the board and twisted a transistor around with base bias resistor string, etc. left the HF taming caps in...

I saw the Foxy lady schematic on the web some time ago(anyone remember the year the schematic first showed up on the web?) and wondered why the cloners did not clone it yet.  To me it looked a friendly DIY build because of the bias used making it less sensitive to transistor Hfe.  It is like the Shin EI with different bias.

Also there have been a number of two transistor cascaded gain stages posted about and people seem to like them.
