Ok, so I have a Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster but it boost's far too much even on the lowest level, which is iritating, and I'm not sure how to fix it.

Also another thing is it doesn't boost the signal unless it's after the distortion pedal, which mean's I can't use the amp's distortion. I don't know if putting it in the effects loop would help but at the moment that isn't going to work physically.

Basically what I'm wondering is this the same for all booster's? more or so the latter question is what I'm asking to be answered here.

Thanks

Yes, that is the case for all boosters--or more correctly, it's the case for all clipping devices (which includes your amp's distortion). If you make your signal louder before the clipping occurs, all that will happen is a bigger signal that gets clipped harder (=more distortion, but not much more volume).

The solution here is to put that booster in your fx loop. That will make the signal louder w/out adding more distortion (assuming you have clean headroom left in your output tubes).
