What sort of buffer do I need to build? (or pre-amp)

SO, I often practice with revalver/amp room etc. The way it works if you don't already know, is you plug your guitar first into some kind of preamp/buffer (peavey suggests a boss style pedal on bypass) to take care of the impedence mis-match, so that you pickups don't load down the input stage of your soundcard's line in, and from there it goes straight to the DSP.

now currently, I'm using a zoom 505II on bypass.. but the thing is just so noisey (can't use a regulated PS because the current draw is too much), and frankly its own EQ is imposing on the signal. What circuit do you guys think I should build to replace the zoom? Plus points if theres a vero layout for it (I've got load of the stuff sitting around)

thanks!

Do a search for buffer in the layouts Gallery and pick one that looks good to you.
Class A booster , Dod 250 , Jfet booster, Optical Tremolo, Little Gem 2,  mosfet boost, Super fuzz , ESP stand alone spring reverb red Llama omni-drive , splitter blender ,

NEVER use gorilla glue for guitar repairs! It's Titebond , Elmers, or Superglue

I usually just use my SD-1 with the gain on 0 and the level a little ways up. Works well enough as a buffer. The LPB-1 EH clone buffer looks pretty dang darn simple though. I've been looking at building one of those myself but it's sad... I've had such bad experiences with perf I'm actually afraid to build a circuit that simple for fear of failing horribly... :/

its pretty easy to adapt perf to stripboard, and stripboard is amazing. Just make sure you can get to a drill press to make your trace cuts though
