Hello,

I've just finished an EXH Badstone clone using the project from http://www.freeproxyserver.net/index.php?j=http%3A%2F%2Ftopopiccione.atspace.com%2FPJ05EHBadStone.html (many thx to Alessandro Petrini for his wonderful site!).

I used RC4458, LM324N, CD4049UBE and BC549C instead of 2N5088 (reversed, because of the mirrored pinout).

In the "manual mode" it works OK (the feedback pot works too), but in normal mode i hear only the clean sound (by the way, this means that 4049 is working or not?).

I tested the LFO (i suppose that the output of the LFO is on the pin 1 of LM324N and i hear only a hiss from it!) and on all pins of LM324N i have fixed tensions (no variations).

Strangest tensions are on the transistor: C=E=0.61V and B=0!!!

Thx a lot all!

Originals used CD4009, but I know that a 4049 will work.

Alex Petrini said the same thing on his site...

I replaced BC549C with a 2N5088, but no change...can anyone help me with the voltages?

I used LM324N instead of LM324...this could be a problem?

I saw that i have almost the same problems as here: http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=42535.0

Hard to believe, but for the 3 or 4 times in the last month the source of the problem was the poor quality of the IC sockets (they are very cheap, 5-6 for 1$), in this case of the LM324 socket which had 2 pins internally broken :(

Now it's functioning OK, but I still have some questions:

1. The 1M rate pot is useful only after 50-60%, so I replaced it with a 470k and i think that i can lower it...it's ok?
2. The older models has a blend pot. How can I put it here?
3. How to add a depth control?

Thx all!

1  Try log and lin for the rate pot. It might need a reverse log pot though.

2  change R5 and R28 for a 10k pot with the wiper connected to R6 and C15.

3  I tried to get a depth control in there but never succeeded.

Thx a lot Stephen!

I replaced the rate pot with a 470K log and i wired it reversed and it seems to be more useful.
I will try the rest of your suggestions tonight :)

This might be useful.

Thx a lot Stephen!
I forgot about that article...I think to try to use a second pot wired as a fine pot like in Tremulus Lune...
By the way, how can I change the speed of the LFO (the 1.5uF tantalum cap, I think) ?

Possibly.
