Need Suggestions for extra switch in footswitch

Hi guys, I have an amp that I am finishing that has relay switching.  I bought a four button footswitch because I liked the shape and price, but I only three.  The three functions I have use a TRS cable and it does boost, channel and boost+channel functions.  I am wanting to do something with the fourth footswitch, but I am not sure what.  I have thought about maybe making it into an effects loop on/off by sending effects send to the pedal, to the switch which could true bypass everything in the effects loop or send the signal through it, back to the footswitch which then goes back to the effects return.  Only issue I have there is that that makes 4 extra jacks and 2 extra cables that could potentially be very long coming from the back of the amp.

The other idea I had was to build in something like the Sparkleboost into the footswitch and have in and out jacks and the two knobs on it.  Only issue I have with that is knob placement, as I like the aesthetic as is, but I could get over that.  Mostly what I am looking for is other suggestions.  I might even be open to suggestions that would require something like a 4 pin XLR or whatever for increased functionality of the amp.    What ideas do you guys have?

PAB? Pre amp boost, bypassing the tonestack. Ya you kinda have a boost.

How about a mid boost or treble boost?

Effects loop sounds good...

I didn't think about a treble boost.  Maybe I could do a simple positive ground silicon rangemaster.  But the effects loop is still sounding pretty good (then I could have all my effects for a solo or something set up and hit just one button for several effects).  Any other suggestions?  By the way Chris, I have toggle switches for the tonestacks on the front panel and don't look forward to any more relays than what I've got, but I sure do like that feature in an amp.  I don't think I will ever build another amp without that option.  It's nice to hear what the amp itself sounds like.

I was thinking more passive with the mid/treble boost. I am working on a Dumble so my mind is kinda in that zone now. Something simple yet effective and not too overpowering. I wouldn't be throwing in extra gain stages like a RM, seems like an easy way to add noise and make the sound harsh. I would do it passive.

Fooling around with tonestack components and making them switchable is interesting. For example putting a cap in parallel to the "treble cap" increases it's value, right. This is prev-iced as a mid boost. I don't know just thinking...

Passive is definitely not a bad idea, that way the battery in the footswitch only has to worry about LED's and should therefore last for a long time.  It would be easy to add a switchable cap and would only require a three conductor (4 pin) cable, which wouldn't be too bad, since I could make one for pretty cheap.  That isn't a bad idea, I'll have to think of the logistics.  I might pass it by just because I put everything together today and called it done, but then again who knows.

You could use it as an AB switch to switch guitars during the gig without having to shut down the amp?
