i hate posting these, but i'm really stumped.

i'm getting output from my ts build, but the drive and tone knobs have no effect.  volume is unity when the pot is maxed, and there is definitely a little dirt present in the signal.

using my audio probe i get signal on pins 1 2 3 and 5 6 7, and from pin 1 the drive pot DOES change the distortion.  my DMM tells me that i have good continuity and no solder bridges/shorts, and in the process of testing this i confirmed my layout and part selection.  have also tried different op amps.  i'm gonna keep pouring over it, but if these symptoms ring a bell w/ anyone, i'd love a kick in the arse to get me goin in the right direction.

i've built several of these, w/ different value tweaks... nothing too off the wall, just trying to get it more into kanji eternity territory.  worked on the breadboard!

Check to see if the diodes are soldered solidly and the right direction.
You should be getting way over unity anyway but...

thanks for the tip john, i'll try reheating the joints when i get home from work.  and i think the fact that i'm getting just unity and the tone knob isnt working implies that the signal isn't going into the amplification stage correctly... so maybe i have two problems... we'll see what happens!

well the soldering on the diodes was fine, but the diodes themselves had issues.  had just received a big order from smallbear and on an inspired whim subbed in a random pair of diodes i think must be schotkys.  hell, diodes are diodes, if i can use fets i figure i can use anything, but apparently this was not a practical clipping arrangement!  switched those out and everything's working proper, except for the tone knob still...  for now i dont care, serendipitously enough the tone is right where i want it.  thanks again for the clue john
