I'm a relative newbie to DIY stompboxes and have what I hopes is an easy question. The PDF from GEOFEX lists this part as a Carling 316P. I've ordered P/N 691-316-PP from Mouser (http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=316-PPvirtualkey69100000virtualkey691-316-PP).

While this looks similar to the switch that's in the Crybaby Wah I've gutted, it doesn't look like the wiring diagram which shows all six connections on the bottom of the switch. Also the DPDT switch I've used on other GGG projects (loop switch and ITS8) had a blue bottom and looked more like the diagram.

Did I order the wrong part? Is this one usable for this project? If so, how do I wire it (their are two connects sticking out of each side and two on the bottom).

I don't plan on using an LED indicator, however, true bypass might be nice (but not necessary).

Thanks in advance.

Carling is a little funny about where they put their terminals. You can use the switch, just imagine that the terminals on the end are actually being pushed around the corner of the end of the body onto the bottom.

Much, much better yet, use your ohmmeter to find out what terminal connects to what and THINK about what gets connected where when the switch is activated.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
