Actually the 1.5M does also smoothen the break-up of the signal in the decay of the tone. So that's nice too!
"What do you mean, dynamics? I'm already playing as loud as i can!"

Bringing an old one to live.

I built a fuzzrite with si transistors from dragonfly layout. I used 10k resistors and 2n3904 transistors. As some of the guys in this thread i also had squeels and noise. I changed the resistors to 470k and like the others, the gain dropped dramatically, but there is no noise and no squeels. Also when i turn the fuzz knob, the volume changes. How can I resolve these two issues or is it normal?

I'd love to hear some input regarding the volume issue when turning the attack knob -- mine does it too. I've tried different transistors in both positions and it doesn't make a difference.

The noise issue is solved though -- bang in a small cap from input to ground as mentioned on the previous page.

I never got it fixed. In the end I deassambled it because I hated the sound.
Good luck and I sure would like to hear how you solved the issue.

Der Groovemeister's post on the previous page talks about putting a small cap over the input and ground to get rid of radio reception. I put in a 2.2nF and that cut the noise to almost nothing. I don't even know if I put it in exactly the right place, but it seemed to work. it sounds like a Fuzzrite now.
I still have the volume issue with the Attack knob though -- hard anticlockwise is very quiet, getting progressively louder going clockwise. This isn't normal for a Fuzzrite, despite the fact that the pot is acting as a blend (I have a bunch of originals as well as some high quality clones by good builders). It should get fuzzier, but not louder.
