replacement for op amp 4558.

Hello, hope everyone is well. im just building stereo ic amp from tonepad

i accidentally ordered JRC4558L which doesnt fit into 8 pin socket.

is it RC4558 they are asking? or what else can i use to replace that part? TL072?

If it just requires a dual-opamp with the same pin-outs as a JRC4558, RC4558, etc, then TL072 should work.

I think it's the "L" suffix that screwed you up - that's a zig-zag inline package. Anything without the L should do the job. RC4558 NJM4558, etc. Also TL072 would be fine.

so i just discovered that i have some 8pin ICs

LM358P
UA741CN
LF353N

i just googled infos and i found out UA741CN and LF353N can be used, right?

ps so in future, i just googled data sheets and they give you infos, right? or is there any trick to know what the numbers and letters indicate?

Not really, since manufacturers all have different codes. What you should do is either check the datasheet, or most companies you buy from (Mouser, Digikey) tell you what kind of package the IC is. You generally want "DIP" packages, which means dual inline package, or two rows of pins.

The Tonepad Stereo IC amp uses both sides of a dual op amp.  The 741 op amp is a single, so it won't work.  The NE555P is a timer chip, not an op amp.
Most dual op amps have the same pinout, but you should check the datasheet (try www.alldatasheet.com) any time you make a part substitution.
